Cctv to Merseyside police/closure of cctv control

Please provide me with the date that WBC cctv is to be passed to Merseyside police and exact date of closure of the Emergency cctv control room.

Thank you for your recent request made under the Freedom of Information
Act.

 

There is no agreed date for the transfer of CCTV operation to Merseyside
Police. Transfer will take place when relevant technical solutions and
equipment are in place

 

There is no exact date for the closure of the Control Room. The closure of
this service is subject to on-going talks & consultation and no definitive
date has therefore been set.

Thank you for your response can you give me the reason eleven fully trained and experienced emergency central control officers were made redundant when this service continues and who will be monitoring Wirrals cctv system while Merseyside police get the equipment in place?

Thank you for your reply further to my request can you inform me if Wirral council remain as data controller for all images captured on the cctv system and if so who is responsible for the recording,retaining and reporting of incidents captured,Furthermore who is responsible for evidential data that is copied too disc and lastly who will pay for the maintenance of the cctv equipment and software?

Thank you for your email below.  Wirral Council will retain Data
Controller responsibilities and will be responsible for the recording and
retaining of CCTV images.  If evidential evidence is passed to a 3^rd
party, then that 3^rd party accepts responsibility for that evidence and
must adhere to whatever legislative responsibilities there are; in respect
of that evidence.

 

Wirral Council is responsible for payments of the maintenance of the
equipment and software.
