CCTV Provision and Expenditure in 2022

I refer to your request dated 9 May 2023 under the Freedom of Information
Act asking to supply the following information:

 

a) The number of fixed CCTV cameras currently operated by the council in
public spaces.

Response from CCTV Department:

We currently monitor 435 public facing CCTV cameras in the district.

Response from Neighbourhoods & Customer Services:

We have 137 cameras.

Response from Waste, Fleet & Transport:

We have 136 cameras

b) The total amount spent on CCTV provision by the council in the 2022
calendar year.

Response from CCTV Department:

The CCTV/Control room carry out various tasks including but not limited
to, CCTV monitoring, CCTV maintenance, Intruder/Fire alarm monitoring,
Out-of-hours emergency services, Lone worker monitoring and Access
control. We are unable to split the department cost between the different
services but the spend for all the services provided by the CCTV/Control
room in 2022 was £797.086.

Response from Neighbourhoods & Customer Services:

The cost was £110,762.41.

Response from Waste, Fleet & Transport:

The Estimated cost for 2022 is around £21,000.

 

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, if you are not
