Dear Sunderland City Council FOI Team,

Thank you for your previous response.

I would like to ask for clarification on the number of fixed CCTV cameras in public places, as it seems much lower than the numbers I have received for other areas in the country. This may be due to a miscommunication, so I wanted to check the criteria for which you checked your CCTV cameras.

In my initial request, I ask for the number of "fixed CCTV cameras", by which I mean any cameras that are positioned in a permanent location. This can include cameras that are remotely movable (turning, tilting etc.).

With this in mind, please can you confirm whether your original response for this query was correct, or if you have a revised answer.

Please let me know if you require any more information.

Yours sincerely,

Jamie Dixon

Good morning Jamie Dixon,

Thank you for your email below dated 26 May, I can confirm the following:

The initial response is correct for the question asked.  The Council have
three fixed location cameras, but we also have one hundred and two
re-deployable cameras for use within public space.  These cameras are
re-deployable as required to support local 'hotspot' issues as they arise,
and then relocated to other areas, therefore they are not referenced as
being in fixed locations.

I hope this is of assistance

Kind regards

Angela
