I am writing in response to your request dated 29 November 2021. This has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

May I first of all apologise for the delay in responding to your request.

You asked for the following information and the Council’s response to your specific questions is set out below:

1. The total number of CCTV cameras currently operated by the council

Cameras around Buildings = 494
Chest cameras = 30
The total amount of Kirklees public space cameras = 129. The total amount spent was £74,427.79.

2. The total amount spent on the installation and maintenance of CCTV cameras in the 2020 calendar year

£1747 covered by commercial rentals and therefore not a direct cost to the council.
Cost to Corporate FM to manage/install/repair/maintain those cameras in 2020- £55,189
