charge at the time have to switch the CCTV on when detaining a detainee at
Worcester police station when they go through the drink drive procedure.
REPLY: I note that this is the third request that you have submitted in
the space of 11 working days regarding the CCTV provisions at Worcester
Police Station.
The response is provided below, but please be mindful that each request
submitted requires the use of police resources to retrieve, collate and
review the information requested and that it would not be in the public
interest for Freedom of Information legislation to be used for multiple
requests on the same subject, as using police resources in this way would
detract from the core purpose of policing i.e. preventing or detecting
crime and preservation of life.

There are 2 types of CCTV in the intox room. One is the custody CCTV which
runs 24/7. The other is the evidential CCTV for the purpose of the drink
drive procedure, this is operated by the investigating officer and only
works when activated for the breathalyser procedure.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as
accurate as possible
