Casualty counts by UK forces, Iraq

The request was successful.

Richard Moyes

Dear Ministry of Defence,

On 12 Sep 2005, FCO Minister of State Kim Howells stated that:

"[Estimates of casualties in Iraq undertaken by other institutions] have had no effect on casualty counts used by UK forces as UK military reporting is conducted as part of standard military procedure."

Could I receive:

1. Copies of standard military procedures relating to the counting and/or reporting of casualties (both military and civilian).
2. Information on the numbers of casualties, both military and civilian, documented through these procedures in Iraq (2003-2009).

Many thanks for your assistance.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Moyes
