Castle Trust finances 2018-19

We're waiting for Andrew Dennis to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Department for Education,

I would be grateful if you could allow my request to see the financial details - loans, rental payment, salaries of staff - of Castle Trust company number 08850163. The Trust runs the primary school my daughters attend and I am concerned about the funding being delivered to the school by the Trust

Yours faithfully,
Andrew Dennis

Dear Andrew

I investigated a £400k loan which Medway Council had accepted in principle to award Castle Trust.

It turned out that the loan was not awarded. The Education and Skills Funding Agency, the section of the Department for Education that oversees academies, would not give permission for the loan to go ahead. I wrote about it here:

https://www.localschoolsnetwork.org.uk/2...

You should be able to read Castle Trust accounts either from Companies House or on Castle Trust's website. Academy trusts are obliged by law to publish their most recent accounts (ending 31 August ) on their websites by 31 January the following year.

Kent Independent Education Advice is a website which gives information about Kent schools. It has covered Castle Trust in the past. Its website is here: https://www.kentadvice.co.uk/

I hope this information is useful to you.

Best wishes

Janet Downs
