Cases brought under the Vaccine Damage Payment Act 1979

(a) How many cases brought under the Vaccine Damage Payment Act 1979 before the Vaccine Damage Payment Unit have progressed to a hearing before a First Tier Tribunal in Scotland?
(b) How many cases brought under the Vaccine Damage Payment Act 1979/before the vaccine Damage Payment Unit have progressed to a hearing before a First Tier Tribunal and then on to an Upper Tier Tribunal hearing in Scotland?

Thank you for your request received on the 22nd September 2017. Unfortunately I am unable to assist. Vaccine Damage Payments are made by the UK Government. If someone is unhappy with the decision they receive regarding a Vaccine Damage Payment they can appeal to the Social Security and Child Support Tribunal. This tribunal has not been devolved to Scotland. It is administered by HMCTS. I would therefore suggest you direct your enquiry to HMCTS for information regarding the Social Security and Child Support Tribunal. They can be contacted at
