Carrington Relief Road Consultation

Dear Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council,

I have received a letter about the CRR consultation and have the following questions:
My letter nearly went straight into the blue bin, I thought it was junk mail, it was addressed to the occupier in a plain white envelope with no Trafford logo or anything that would indicate I should read.
I know other local residents who have put theirs straight into the bin without realising this was something important - was this a deliberate tactic?
The map is totally unhelpful, there is no mention of how close this will actually come to the existing housing in Sale West, nor how we residents are expected to be impacted by the increased traffic or pollution, particularly air and noise, there are no markers to help residents, such as Dainewell Park or the TPT - again is this a deliberate tactic from Trafford to reduce feedback from Sale West residents?
There are inconsistencies between what it says on the website and what is in the letter - for example the website says the road will be completed in 2028, 2 years before the letter says the construction is due to begin - this is confusing - surely the materials would be checked before issue - which of these is correct?
The letter mentions that the plans are able to be viewed in Cadishead library, this is too far away for anyone in Trafford, particularly those without a car, why was Cadishead library chosen?
The letter also mentions a consultation in 2022 "to gain opinions on a range of route options for the new road", whilst the CRR consultation website states that "Public consultation was held on the two remaining options in early 2021 with feedback received forming part of the options appraisal process". I am not aware of any such consultation.
This road will have the most impact on those living in Sale West, were Sale West residents invited to participate in either of these consultations?
Please can you provide full details about these consultations (assuming there was one in 2021 and another in 2022). I would like to know who was able to respond, what questions were asked and a link to the reports that were issued after the consultation.
Whilst I like the idea of the ponds, I do not think they will be anywhere near sufficient to address the level of water currently standing along the route of the road, how will Sale West residents be compensated if their homes or gardens are flooded once the road and the houses that are going to be built at the other side of Dainewell Woods are in place?
For information, there may be more issues to be raised about this consultation but the website is not available today (Saturday 25th January), the very day when most of us who work would want to spend time looking at the details.

Yours faithfully,

Karen Worsley

Dear Ms Worsley

We refer to your FOI request of 28th January 2025.

We note you have given your comments on a range of matters relating to the Carrington Relief Road Proposals. We very much welcome feedback from residents during this period of public consultation and will pass these on to the project+IBk-s communications team which will be collated accordingly.

If you were unable to attend one of the dedicated drop-in sessions in the area and speak directly to one of our team, there is a facility on the project+IBk-s website where it is possible to further record views and comments on the proposals, should you wish to do so. Our team will then study all responses to gain a broad understanding of issues raised by residents to enable us to focus on issues of concern to the community.

Please follow this link to access the questionnaire: https://gis.amey.co.uk/portal/apps/story...

With regard to the specific information you have requested about prior consultation, please accept our apologies for the confusion caused by a typographical error that we note in our original letter. Following completion of that engagement process, the results and information which you request were detailed within a report to The Council+IBk-s Executive which you can find following this link:
