Carrington Relief Road Consultation 2021
Dear Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council,
The CCR consultation website states that "Public consultation was held on the two remaining options in early 2021 with feedback received forming part of the options appraisal process."
I am not aware of any previous consultation about this scheme. Certainly, the public engagement exercise, which asked us to raise any questions about a video, was not a consultation and did not request our opinions about the options.
Please can you provide me with further information about the questions that were asked in the consultation, how they were issued, and who was invited to participate? A link to the consultation materials would be helpful, along with a copy of the consultation report, setting-out the responses received.
The CCR consultation website also states "Trafford Council are committed to introducing the Carrington Relief Road", which I believe to be unconstitutional given the lack of consultation on either the transportation options for an area where there is expected to be a huge level of development, nor the options for improving motor vehicle traffic in the area.
Yours faithfully,
Anthony Shearwood

Hello
Further to your FOI request, please see below.
A commitment to deliver the Carrington Relief Road has formed part of Council Policy since the adoption of The Trafford Core Strategy of 2012, and the scheme has developed since then by ensuring full adherence to The Council+IBk-s constitutional requirements.
Once technically unfeasible options had been eliminated by The Council+IBk-s engineering consultants, residents and stakeholders were invited to give their views as part of the process of determining a final option to be taken forward for further study. You can find out how that process evolved together with the associated constitutional decisions by following this link:
https://gis.amey.co.uk/portal/apps/story...
Following completion of that engagement process, the results and information which you request were detailed within a report to The Council+IBk-s Executive which you can find following this link:
https://democratic.trafford.gov.uk/docum...
We very much welcome feedback from residents during this period of public consultation for the scheme and I will pass your comments on to the project+IBk-s communications team and they will be collated accordingly.
If you were unable to attend one of the dedicated drop-in sessions in the area and speak directly to one of our team, there is a facility on the project+IBk-s website where it is possible to further record views and comments on the proposals, should you wish to do so. Our team will then study all responses to gain a broad understanding of issues raised by residents to enable us to focus on issues of concern to the community.
Please follow this link to access the questionnaire: https://gis.amey.co.uk/portal/apps/story...

Dear Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council,
Thank you for the response to my FOI request but you have not actually provided the information I requested - which was:
The questions that were asked in the previous consultation.
How they were issued?
Who was invited to participate?
A link to the consultation materials
A copy of the consultation report, showing the responses received
The evolution process on the Amey website does not set out any information about any previous consultation. The Executive report you have provided a link to only refers to the public engagement exercise
I mentioned in my FOI. The questions mentioned in that report are the questions raised by members of the public in response to that public engagement exercise.
Please can you now provide the information I have requested.
Yours faithfully,
Anthony Shearwood
