Dear Carlisle City Council FOI Officer

I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

This request is justifiable on the grounds of being in the interests of the people and therefore cannot and should not be deemed malicious or vexatious in any way:

Well documented and publicly available details of monies from the Public Purse having and or are being used to repair the Carlisle Central Plaza Hotel.

To assist you in answering this request: the director and secretary of GOLDENFERN PROPERTIES at the time of the sale of Central Plaza Hotel were: MR ARYEH EHRENTREU & MRS HANNAH EHRENTREU

Given the following information is already available, the purchaser and lenders were respectively.

PROPRIETOR: GOLDENFERN PROPERTIES LIMITED Companies House Registration No. 06558883 of 89 Windsor Road, Prestwich, Manchester M25 0DB aka MR ARYEH EHRENTREU & MRS HANNAH EHRENTREU.
LENDER: Carlisle City Council. Dated 17th June 2008.

My FIO questions are listed below.

1) What is the exact connection between Carlisle City Council and the sale of the Central Plaza Hotel on or around the 17th June 2008. Full details please.

a) How much money did Carlisle City Council provide and or loan. Full details please.

b) How much of this money was paid back. Full details please.

c) What was the intent and reason given by the purchaser for the loan of this money. Full details please

d) Did the directors and or their agents contact Carlisle City Council about their view of buying Central Plaza Hotel, if so when exactly and why. Full details please.

e) When did Carlisle City Council become aware if they did that MR ARYEH EHRENTREU was struggling financially because of debts from very early in 2008. Full details please.

f) Did CARLISLE City Council make any attempt or provision to get any and all loans of monies from the public purse back, any and all information required. Full details please.

g) Please list any and all works carried out by the purchaser Goldenfern on the Central Plaza Hotel and if Carlisle City Council provided more monies and how much from the public purse. Records should be available due to the fact the building carries Listed Status.
