Caribbean scholarships and funds
Dear All Souls College, Oxford,
In November 2017, it was announced that All Souls College would ‘launch an annual scholarship scheme, funding graduates from Caribbean countries to study at Oxford, alongside a five-year grant for a higher education college in Barbados’. See media reports: https://www.theguardian.com/education/20...
1) How many scholarships have been offered so far?
2) How many scholarships have been accepted?
3) Has the grant been awarded to a higher education college in Barbados?
Yours faithfully,
Stephen Mullen
Dear Stephen Mullen,
These scholarships, now known as All Souls College Hugh Springer Graduate Scholarships, are funded by the College but administered by the University, see https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/graduate... . Those fulfilling the eligibility criteria and applying for the course by the relevant January deadline are automatically considered for the award.
1. Six scholarships have so far been offered, including two offered for courses beginning in October 2020.
2. Six have been accepted.
3. The grants are awarded to individuals enrolled for higher degrees at the University of Oxford only; they are not awarded for study elsewhere.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Beaver
