Carers Grants

The request was successful.

Dear Barking and Dagenham Borough Council,
Please could you supply me with the total figure of funding the
council receives from Government in the form of grants or monies for Carers.

From 2008 to 2011-12 [ each year if possible] or however the
Government allocates.ie 2010 -2013 ?

The following questions all relate to these years.

Please include Grants/funds/budgets or any other descriptions
of monies including concessions

Could also supply me with a breakdown /tables of these
figures including the departments which receive the funding.

Could you also identify which funding is ring-fenced?

Please identify charities, service providers or any other organisation which are allocated Carers monies and show these payments.

How many Carers assessments were completed face to face with a social worker?

How many carers assessments are completed as part of the 'cared for person's CCA?

Dear Barking and Dagenham Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Barking and Dagenham Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Carers Grants'.

I find it quite extraordinary that I have now had two automated responses from the same person telling me that she is out of the office. Can someone else please pick up this query?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Dear Corporate Complaints Team,

Yes _ I did receive the response in December. However, I wrote back to you as you hadn't answered the first question: can you please state how much was the annual carers grant you received from central government for each of the last three financial years.

My request for a review relates to not answering that question despite several prompts.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Neary

Hazell Danielle, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council

Ryan Janet, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council

Dear Mr Mark Neary

Stage 2 Corporate Complaint.

I have been passed your Stage 2 complaint regarding how you Freedom of
Information request was carried out.

I can confirm that I have undertaken an investigation into how your
request was dealt with.

It appears that your original request was not read correctly and this
therefore this led to you not receiving the correct information in your
first response.

Also that you had to contact the council again to chase your response.

I must apologise on behalf of the London Borough Barking and Dagenham and
as an action from the above, extra training has been provided to staff in
the respective area and monitoring has been put into place to ensure that
this does not occur again.

I trust that I have dealt with your complaint satisfactorily. If however
you are not satisfied with my explanation, you will,. Of course, be able
to appeal to the information Commissioner at [1]www.ico.gov
