Dear Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council,
1] Please could you supply me with the total figure of funding the
council receives from Government and or NHS in the form of grants
or monies for Carers.
From 2008 to 2011-12 [ each year if possible] or however the
Government allocates this funding .ie 2010 -2013 ?
The following questions all relate to these years.
2] Please include Grants/funds/budgets or any other descriptions of
monies including concessions
3] Could also supply me with a breakdown /tables of these
figures including the departments which receive the funding.
4] Could you also identify which funding is ring-fenced?
5] Please identify charities,service providers or any other
organisation which are allocated Carers monies and show these
payments.
6] How many Carers assessments were completed face to face with a
social worker?
7[ How many Carers self assessment were completed?
8] How many Carers are on personal budgets?
9] How many Carers are on regular personal budgets?
10] How many Carers received a one off payment in the form of a
carers grant ?
11] How many Carers received more than one carers grants per year?.
12] How many Carers receive regular direct payments?
13] Do Carers receive funding from monies other than allocated
Carers funds eg RAS?
14] How many Carers are known to the council?
15] How many Carers made a complaint of any description?
16]How many carers are paid via direct payments or any other
payment whilst living in the same house as the caree
17] How many carers are paid either in money or lieu of services or
expenses by the council to promote new services.personalisation for
instance or represent the council out of county?

No Carers self assessment process.
8] How many Carers are on personal budgets?
685 Carers Individual Budgets
9] How many Carers are on regular personal budgets?
We do not keep separate data for carers. We provide one off payments
however and we do have carers who access respite services as part of the
users IB.
10] How many Carers received a one off payment in the form of a
carers grant ?
2008/9 90, 2009/10 262, 2010/11 250, 2011/12 72. [carers grants have
now been replaced by carers individual budgets]
11] How many Carers received more than one carers grants per year?.
None. Only one grant can be claimed per year
12] How many Carers receive regular direct payments?
We do not keep separate data for carers. For Adults, people previously
on Direct Payments have been transferred on to Regular Personal Budgets.
13] Do Carers receive funding from monies other than allocated Carers
funds e.g. RAS?
Carers needs are incorporated into the RAS process if relevant and the
support planning process. This can include the need for respite care

2008/9, 1210 registered carers, 2009/10, 1733 registered carers,
2010/11, 2412 registered carers, 2011/12, 2994[end Dec] registered carers.
15] How many Carers made a complaint of any description?
We only have the numbers of complaints logged on behalf of a service
user. These can be from carers, other family members, advocates,
neighbours etc. The numbers of these are
2008/9 - 55, 2009/10 - 82, 2010/11 -113, 2011 to present -72. One
complaint over this period was specifically about carers services.

whilst living in the same house as the carer
Data not collected.
17] How many carers are paid either in money or lieu of services or
expenses by the council to promote new services.personalisation for
instance or represent the council out of county?
We do not have figures for this but carers are often funded to attend
events etc.where relevant.
