Carers Act Funding 2019 to 2020

We're waiting for The Coalition of Carers in Scotland to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Fife Health and Social Care Partnership,

Funding for carers 2019/20
I request the following recorded information under the terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

In its 2019/20 budget the Scottish Government allocated an additional £10.5million for
continuing to work to embed the recently established rights for Scotland’s unpaid carers with an additional £10.5 million

This provided a total allocation of £27.9m for carers (an increase from £17.4m in 2018/19)
This resource was designed in part to implement the duties within the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016, including the duty to provide support to carers to meet their eligible needs.

Please indicate the following:
A. Exact sum (expressed as a monetary amount) which was allocated to the Health and Social Care Partnership for the purpose of implementing the duties in the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 in the financial year 2019 /2020

B. A full breakdown of what the money allocated to implementing the duties in the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 has been used for. Please use the following headings below to set out how it has been allocated.

1. Strategic carer posts in HSCPs
2. Carers support posts in HSCPs
3. Allocated to local Health Board (including implementation of Section 28)
4. Funding to carers centres
(please provide breakdown)
5. Funding to young carers services (including funding directed to young carers through local carers centres
(please provide breakdown)
