Care Quality Commission

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council,

This is a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act. I would like to request the following information:

From 1st January 2020 to the day this request is processed, I would like to request all correspondence and communications between this authority and the Care Quality Commission that mentions, or refers to, the coronavirus.

I am happy for you to conduct an electronic search only. Please conduct a search among the department(s) that is most likely to have interactions with the Care Quality Commission.

I would like to receive this information in an electronic format. If you feel that a substantive response to this request is not possible within a reasonable time frame, I would be grateful if you could contact me and provide assistance as to how I can refine the request. If you need any clarification, please contact me. I look forward to receiving a response in 20 working days. Many thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Jenna Corderoy

FoI Request, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Ms Corderoy,

I am emailing to confirm the receipt of your recent request for information to Wigan Council. This has been logged with reference FOI 10351 and will be forwarded to the relevant department for action.

We will respond as soon as possible and in most cases no later than 20 working days after the receipt of your request i.e. 5th June 2020.

The Information Commissioner’s Office has recognised the unprecedented challenges all are facing during the pandemic and that people may experience delays when making information rights requests during the current situation.

Please also be aware that the response may not be complete in whole or in part. This is due to government wide measures to prevent spread of the outbreak. Wigan Council is currently handling a large volume of business critical work aimed towards the protection and safeguarding of at risk groups, and as such the business area may not be able to provide full information for the completion of the Freedom of the Information request. We will confirm as much as possible when we send our response to your request.

I trust you will understand this position, but if you are dissatisfied, we would advise you to re-submit the request in 3-6 months when we may be in a position to confirm our response.

If you have any comments or questions in the meantime, please direct them to [Wigan Council request email], or in writing to the address below.

The Council does not charge for most FOI requests, but charges may be made for actual disbursements incurred such as photocopying, printing, postage and packaging, and only if these charges amount to more than £20.00. If a charge is to be made, confirmation of the payment due will be given before the information is provided and payment may be requested prior to the provision of the information.

Regards

Graham Donelan
Information Governance Officer
