Subject: Carbon literacy training for senior councillors and staff

We are just emailing you to update you on your open Information Request.
We are currently in the process of updating our systems and part of this
update will mean that your open Information Request has been assigned a
new reference: FOI/6806

Thank you in advanced for your patients patience and whilst we will
continue top process your request. We will issue a response or update to
you as soon as we are able.

Unfortunately, the Council is currently experiencing a delay in our
response times due to demand and resource. As an organisation we are aware
of our legal duties under the legislation and are making every effort to
improve our position and respond to requests within our statutory
timeframes as quickly as possible. All requests are being monitored and
continually reviewed to provide you with an expected date for disclosure.

Further to your request received on 17/01/2023, I confirm that the Council
has now considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Specifically, you have requested the following information:

"Please treat this as a Freedom of Information/Environmental Information
Regulations request.

I would like information about your council’s carbon literacy training in
relation to climate action for the Council Climate Action Scorecards. This
information may be held by the HR department or other departments that
organise staff training.

In particular, please supply me with information relating to the following
questions:

a. Have all senior management received carbon literacy training or
equivalent since 1st January 2019 Please state the type of training.

b. Have all current councillors in the cabinet or committee chairs
received carbon literacy training or equivalent since being elected 
Please state the type of training.

This training could be from the Carbon Literacy Organisation or another
organisation, university or in-house.  We want to know the number of
people who have attended the training. We don’t need to know the number of
staff that have received a certificate of completion or attendance."

We have not conducted Carbon Literacy training so answers to the other
questions are N/A.

If you are dissatisfied with the way the Council has handled your request
under the Freedom of Information Act, you may ask for an internal review.
This should be submitted to us within 40 working days of this response.
