Dear FOI,

thank you for the 18th December letter and the attached data file.

There are two points where I believe Birmingham University has not fulfilled.

1) I had requested the date on which the FOI request was received.
The data file contains only the year and the month of the request, but not the day.
I believe this part has not been fulfilled.

2) I also requested the following:
“Please supply details of all requests received from 1st January 2017 onwards.”
Birmingham University has supplied information only upto the end of 2019.
As there has been nearly a 1 year delay in supplying this information, my expectation is that the most recently available data would be used, which could be uptp the end of December 2020.

3) Could Birmingham University please clarify what data the university refusal notices refer to?
There are 18 rows containing a sequence of x eg “xxxxxx”.
Is this the data which has been redacted?

There are also row sequences which are missing, for instance “2017,1,2”, “2017,1,7” and “2017,1,9”. Have these rows also been redacted or deleted?

I have copied the ICO into this correspondence, as they ruled that this request must be fulfilled – see email below. I am asking the ICO if the updated information can be supplied by the 14th February 2020.

Yours sincerely,

S Williams
