Capacity and Mental Health
Dear Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust,
Would you kindly disclose any procedure, policy, framework, escalation process or pathway for adults who present in a mental health crisis, threatening suicide, who have capacity, and are refusing attendance to A&E. Especially if and when community based mental health services are either refusing to become involved/unable to be come involved.
This could involve escalations alongside partner agencies or through AMPH/Social Worker involvement.
Yours faithfully,
Matt Firestone

Dear Matt,
Thank you for your recent request for information.
Please could we ask for clarification on the term 'present', is it meant physically or by phone.
Many thanks

Dear Freedom of Information,
By preset, I mean:
The crisis being the patient’s primary presentation to your staff, ambulance staff, or police and refuse to attend A&E. This group of patients related to specifically being in the community.
For example, presenting to the emergency department is a broken limb.
I hope that helps.
Yours sincerely,
Matt Firestone
