Dear High Speed Two (HS2) Limited,

I am writing in relation to the decision to remove one of the originally planned platforms at Euston, leaving 10 platforms for HS2 services.

Reading through press releases, it seems that HS2/DfT is confident in maintaining the 17 trains per hour capacity of the HS2 when it is fully operation.
1. Do you have assumptions or modelling that details how exactly this is possible, with smaller margins for the knock on effect of delayed trains that this entails?
2. I realise that recently in press releases, the claim of planning or maintaining 18 trains per hour have been replaced with 17tph - is 18tph no longer the end goal of future capacity?
3. Does ETCS level 3/hybrid system play a role in maintaining capacity for 17tph?
