Cannon Netting Injuries and Fatalities

M Thrane made this Freedom of Information request to Scottish Natural Heritage This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was successful.

Dear Scottish Natural Heritage,

I believe Scottish Natural Heritage 'licence' the British Trust for Ornithology to administer the ringing scheme in Scotland.

If this is the correct, would it be possible to obtain statistics relating to cannon netting fatalities in Scotland, by region, between 2014 and 2016.

I am specifically interested in the number of birds killed or injured in the undertaking of this capture method. I understand that feedback from bird ringers and bird ringing groups with relation to this method is routinely collated.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Yours faithfully,

M Thrane
