Cannabis.

Kirsty Eccles made this Freedom of Information request to Lancashire Constabulary This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Lancashire Constabulary should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Lancashire Constabulary,

Resent research indicates that 99% of all UK cancers cured using cannabis are cured using cannabis illegally grown here, and each time the police confiscate this life saving herbal medicine you are potentially preventing parents from treating their children and adults treating themselves. We have no choice but to obtain our medicine via the black market because we cannot afford £800.00 per month for private cannabis prescriptions. Therefore, not only are you targeting the sick but the less well off too. What would you do if a loved one needed emergency cannabis medicine to treat their cancer because all other treatments had failed and you couldn't afford to pay £10k per annum for ongoing private prescriptions? Would you let them continue to suffer then die? Or would you source illegal cannabis to give them a final chance of survival? See just how hypocritical you all are?

You know that targeting a miracle herbal medicine is wrong and hypocritical, so why continue to persecute the sick and dying? Is it because you are 'just obeying orders' and 'upholding the law'? Or is it because you like forcing men, women and children to suffer needlessly and horrendously? What if you feel the law is wrong? Would you seriously continue to enforce it? Isn't that inhumane?

Remember: One day we shall all be judged on our past actions. How will you fare?

Your comments would be appreciated but I shan't hold my breath because, in reality, you have no viable excuses.

Yours faithfully,

Kirsty Eccles
