CAMH Mental Health Referral data
Dear Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust,
This is a freedom of information request.
I am requesting data on children and young people (CYP) accessing mental health services, including eating disorder services. Please exclude all data relating to CYP accessing learning disability and autism services.
If helpful, you may wish to collect this data from the final submissions to the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS) you will have made.
Contact can include assessment over telephone and/or video conferencing, but can not include text, email or letter contact.
Please answer questions 1 to 5 for the two following time periods:
Time period A) 1st April 2019 to 31 March 2020
Time period B) 1st April 2020 to 31 March 2021
1. During this time period, please give the number of CYP referred to your CAMH for:
1.1 Core CAMH (i.e., including treatment for symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms);
1.2 Core Eating Disorder.
2. Of these, how many were emergency referrals for:
2.1 Core CAMH;
2.2 Core Eating Disorder?
3. During this time period, please give the number of CYP waiting longer than 12 weeks without contact by services for:
3.1 Core CAMH;
3.2 Core Eating Disorder.
4. During this time period, please give the number of CYP whose referral was closed before treatment, and who were referred for:
4.1 Core CAMH services;
4.2 Core Eating Disorder services.
5. For CYP whose referrals were closed before treatment, please provide all the reasons why this happened.
6. During this time period, please give the number of CYP still waiting for treatment on 31 March, and who have not been contacted for:
6.1 Core CAMH services;
6.2 Core Eating Disorder services.

Health referral data.
We are treating your correspondence as a request for information under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.
You should normally expect to receive a further reply from us within 20
working days from the day when your request was originally received by
this Department.
The Trust will endeavour to process your request. However, in light of
the national emergency and the Trust prioritising Covid-19 staff time is
at a premium to provide and support clinical services and we may not be
able to provide a timely response.

I am writing to request an internal review of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust's handling of my FOI request 'CAMH Mental Health Referral data'.
It is unclear why you are not able to answer Question 4, namely:
4. During two time periods - 1st April 2019 to 31 March 2020 and - 1st April 2020 to 31 March 2021, please give the number of CYP whose referral was closed before treatment, and who were referred for:
4.1 Core CAMH services;
4.2 Core Eating Disorder services.
All other Trusts have been able to provide this data, and it is a simple request for just two numbers. Can you check that you are indeed definitely not able to provide this data?
Similarly, it is very much unclear to me why you are not also able to answer Question 6, namely,
6. On two dates, 31 March 2020 and 31 March 2021 - please give the number of CYP who were on that date still waiting for treatment, and who had not on that date been contacted for:
6.1 Core CAMH services;
6.2 Core Eating Disorder services
Please can you check whether you correctly applied exemptions for these two simple questions, or if you are in fact indeed able to answer them after all?
