Dear Ms Rajan,
Your request was received on 18 July 2022 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’).
You asked:
Please could you kindly provide information about Physical Natural Sciences applicants from
the 2022 cycle who applied to Trinity College, St. John's College, Pembroke Col ege, Christ’s
College, Jesus College and King's College (regardless of whether they were pooled or not):
For each college listed above please can you provide
1. The number of applicants to each college for Physical Natural Science from maintained
schools, independent schools and overseas separately
2. The number of applicants called for interview in each of the groups in 1.
3. The number of applicants that received an offer including those who were pooled for each of
the groups in 1.
4. The minimum, mean and maximum score of successful applicants for the Mathematics
section of the NSAA for each of the colleges
5. The minimum, mean and maximum score of successful applicants for the Physics and
Chemistry section of the NSAA for each of the colleges
6. The number of male and female applicants to physical natural science to the above colleges
and the number of offers made to male and female applicants in each of the above colleges
The requested information, insofar as it is held, is attached. Information about interviews is not held; all
interview processes for entry to undergraduate degree courses at the University are set and managed
locally by each of the individual Colleges, each of which is a separate legal entity and public authority
under the Act. Some suppression has been applied to prevent the risk of any individual being identified.
In presenting the information in this way, the University is engaging the exemption at section 40(3A)(a)
of the Act because the release of the raw data would breach the first data protection principle (the fair,

lawful and transparent processing of personal data) as set out in the UK General Data Protection
Regulation. This part of section 40 confers absolute exemption under the Act.
