Rob Davies made this Freedom of Information request to Leicestershire Constabulary as part of a batch sent to 45 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was refused by Leicestershire Constabulary.

Dear Leicestershire Constabulary,

I'm writing to request quarterly figures going back to 2016 on the number of occasions on which officers from this police service were called to licensed gambling premises. In particular i'm seeking:-

1. The number of callouts, broken down by quarter.
2. The number of arrests made as a result of these callouts.
3. If possible, the costs incurred in each quarter as a result of the callouts.

Yours faithfully,

Rob Davies

FOI, Leicestershire Constabulary

Good Morning Mr Davies,
I refer to your FOI request below...
May I ask for clarification please?

Do you mean 'Bookmakers' 'Public Houses' as the gambling premises?

This is very difficult and complex request as our system does not have location types so every incident would need to be matched to a list of licensed premises (even a fruit machine needs a gambling license and many public houses in Leicester/ Leicestershire will have a gambling license), it would certainly take over 18 hours.

If you could provide a list of addresses you want to see data on we could process a match. Matching the attendance to the arrests is difficult as we could attend and no arrest takes place. This would also require a manual search.

If you requested the number of crimes recorded at locations recorded as Bookmakers that would be relatively straightforward, (although crimes is not the same as callouts). Please specify which is required.

Thank You for your assistance

Kind Regards
