The request was refused by Leeds City Region Leaders Board.

Dear Leeds City Region Leaders Board,

I would like to request information as to the agreed extension, made between Calderdale Council and the Leeds City Region Leaders Board regarding the finance of £1.3 million that was made available between 3rd November 2015 and 28th February 2017, to put towards the demolition of Northgate House & the adjacent Central Library.

Yours faithfully,
MBradley

Dear Leeds City Region Leaders Board,

Due to that Leeds City Region & the West Yorkshire Combined Authority are administered by the same body and since it was brought to my attention that my FOIRs may be having an adverse impact. I ensured that no-other FOI Request to the other organization was active from the time of making this request until after I received a response.

Previous FOIRs made by myself to the Leeds City Region were made on 27th December 2015 & 6th April 2016, making the ratio of 1 request per year!

This request was made in order to discover whenever or not the Council still has the funding to demolish Northgate House. A controversial project that has seen further private rented accommodation acquired by the Council, millions of pounds spent on a brand new library and archive over and above the cost of refurbishing the existing Central Library, for which a campaign group acquire 15,000 signatures on a petition to save in 2009. http://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/15-... It is therefore in the public interest to know whenever or not the Council has the funding to put towards the demolition of these buildings. Especially since the Council may be looking at renting further private rented accommodation as it appears that the 'Piece Mill' where Leeds Beckett University were/are going to open their latest Business Centre may be demolished! https://michaelbradleysblog.wordpress.co...

In relation to the handling of my request and for future reference please could you answer the following…

Whenever or not the ‘Leeds City Region’ is a different body to that of the ‘West Yorkshire Combined Authority’, as your response implies that these two are in fact one public body under two different disguises?

Why you have felt the need to email your response to my personal email address, instead of via the ‘whatdotheyknow’ website from where this request was made?

When the penultimate FOIR made by myself to the WYCA on the 15th November 2016 and the subsequent request made by myself to the WYCA on the 18th May 2017 after I had received a response from the Leeds City Region on the 18th April 2017, in relation to this request. Were both responded to from the ‘whatdotheyknow’ website where these requests were made!

Yours faithfully,
MBradley
