Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
The 'Calculating the transitional protection top-up payment' document provided in
IR2022/72792 gives instructions on how to input the information needed to calculate the
Transitional Element.
A) How is the Transitional Element calculated using this information? Can you provide
the details / formulas / spreadsheets etc used in this calculation?
B) The instructions ask the inputter to 'review the Transitional Protection amount' (5.1) -
is there any guidance on how they are supposed to do this? Is there guidance on how to
manually calculate the Transitional Element?

Thank you for your response. However, I do not think the guidance provided properly addresses the questions I asked. The guidance provided explains how to go through the process of checking that information has been inputted. My questions were concerning the actual calculation of the Transitional Element.
