CAFCASS Board
Dear Department for Education,
I have previously made a request to CAFCASS for information under the Freedom of Information Act on the appointment of Board Members (https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/b...)
Which requested information based on reading the "enabling act for CAFCASS" the Criminal Justice and Court Service Act which makes reference to the CAFCASS Board Structure under Schedule 2, however CAFCASS have informed me that any information relating to this will be held by yourselves for the Secretary of State for Education.
Therefore Could you please let me have the following information.
1. Schedule 2 Sections 1 & 2 refer to the regulations for
appointments to the board, can you kindly let me have a copy of the all the regulations / policies within your organisation that relate to the appointment of board members for CAFCASS.

information:
1. Schedule 2 Sections 1 & 2 refer to the regulations for appointments to the board, can you kindly let me
have a copy of the all the regulations / policies within your organisation that relate to the appointment of
board members for CAFCASS”.
I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The Department for Education (DfE) is committed to ensuring that all public appointments are made based on
merit following a fair and open competition and are compliant with the [1]OCPA Code of Practice?.
This Code of Practice was revised in April 2012 and is published by the Commissioner for Public Appointments
in fulfilment of his duties as set out in the Public Appointments Order in Council (2013).

The Commissioner for Public Appointments carries out regulatory, monitoring and reporting activities on all
DfE Public Appointments including Cafcass. DfE Public Appointments are made in line with the code and
following [3]Public Appointments Guidance issued by the Cabinet Office.
There are no additional regulations covering appointments to the Cafcass Board.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please remember to quote the reference number
above in any future communications.
If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should make a complaint to the Department
by writing to me within two calendar months of the date of this letter. Your complaint will be considered by
an independent review panel, who were not involved in the original consideration of your request.
If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint to the Department, you may then contact the
Information Commissioner’s Office.

Does anyone have the email or contact details for cafcass board members ? They have currently shut s out and will not even take our calls or reply to emails
