Byelaws relating to UAV Flights

The request was successful.

Dear Buckinghamshire Council,

Can you please advise if you have any byelaws relating to the use off UAVs from your land, and if so can you please elder provide a copy or the link to their location on a website.

If you do not have any byelaws, do you have any other policies relating to the use of UAVs on your land?

Can you finally advise if these have been reviewed in relation to CAP722C (https://publicapps.caa.co.uk/modalapplic...) published by the Civil Aviation Authority in December 2020.

Yours faithfully,

Simon Hawkins

Buckinghamshire Council

Dear Mr Hawkins

Thank you for your request for information.  Please accept our apologies
for the delay in our response and for any inconvenience caused.

This request has been handled under the Environmental Information
Regulations 2004.   Please note that on 1 April 2020, the new
Buckinghamshire Council replaced the five former councils in
Buckinghamshire (Aylesbury Vale District Council, Buckinghamshire County
Council, Chiltern District Council, South Bucks District Council and
Wycombe District Council).  All local government services previously
provided by the former councils transferred to the new council.

Information held from our records includes:

The two attached byelaws which refer to “model aircraft” (on the basis
that drones appear to come within the definition of model aircraft etc).

Please also see the link below to an old Bucks County Council byelaw
which refers to model aircraft which could come within the definition of
an UAV:

Please also see the attached policy document (attachment 3): The policy
includes Unmanned Aerial Vehicles - UAVs (referred to as Drones) only
where they have surveillance equipment (i.e. camera, image recording/live
streaming, etc) capabilities but is limited to where these are in use by
the Council (or our appointed suppliers/contractors/3^rd parties).

No other recorded information can be found which comes within the request.

If you have any queries about this response, please contact us. Please
remember to quote the reference number provided in the subject line of
this email in any future communications.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision,
you can contact us at [2][Buckinghamshire Council request email] or by

Gateway, Gatehouse Road, Aylesbury, HP19 8FF.

Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the
internal review procedure provided by Buckinghamshire Council. You can
