Byelaws

The request was successful.

Dear Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs,

Please could you provide a list of byelaws or other local legislative instruments which were
(A) confirmed by or on behalf of the Secretary of State during 2013,
(B) submitted for confirmation during 2013 but which the Secretary of state declined to confirm.

Many thanks

Yours faithfully,

Paul Jones

FAO Mike Kaye, Head of Information Standards

Dear Mr Kaye

Your ref:RFI6146

Please carry out a review of the response which has been provided to my Freedom of Information request about byelaws confirmed by the Secretary of State in 2013. A copy of my FOI request and the Department's response are available at https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/b...

The response I have received dated 6 January 2014 states that "there are no records of byelaws being confirmed or submitted for confirmation by the Secretary of State during 2013".

I believe this to be incorrect as there are at least two references online to Byelaws which have been confirmed by the Secretary of State during 2013 - as follows:

* the Marine Management Organisation's website indicates that byelaws made by the MMO were confirmed by the Secretary of State on 20 December 2013 - see http://www.marinemanagement.org.uk/prote...

* the Ouse and Humber Internal Drainage Board's website includes details of Byelaws confirmed on 25 July 2013 - see http://www.ohdb.org.uk/ousehumber/docume...

If your search did not identify these records, it is probably likely that there were other byelaws which were confirmed in 2013, and which are not otherwise available online, which your search also failed to identify.

Therefore please can I ask you to re-check your records and provide me with a list of all Byelaws which have been confirmed by the Secretary of State in 2013 as originally requested (along with the other information I requested).

Yours faithfully,

Paul Jones
