Dear Rother District Council,

Please provide details of what percentage of the total outstanding NNDR you receive when selling a debt to one of your recovery agents such as Chandlers?

For example if a business owes £1000, what percentage of that that outstanding debt are you likely to receive from your recovery agent?

Yours faithfully,

Ian Potter

With reference to your request received on 30 September 2016 about
business rate arrears, we would respond as follows:-

Please provide details of what percentage of the total outstanding NNDR
you receive when selling a debt to one of your recovery agents such as
Chandlers?

For example if a business owes £1000, what percentage of that that
outstanding debt are you likely to receive from your recovery agent?

Outstanding NNDR is not sold to Enforcement Agents they remain debts owed
to the local authority and the Enforcement Agent charges the debtor an
enforcement fee.  Therefore, if a debt for £1000 is collected by an
Enforcement Agent on behalf of Rother then the local authority receive the
full £1000 .
