Business Rates

The request was refused by Vale of White Horse District Council.

Dear Vale of White Horse District Council,

Please can you provide me with the following information under the
Freedom Of Information Act 2000:-

The most up to date list you can obtain with;
(a) List all Commercial properties and their addresses.
(b) The names and addresses of the Rate payers referred to above
for each property and their correspondence address (if different
from the property address)
(c) The billing authority reference for each property
(d) The current liability payable for the year 2015/16.
(e) The date the rateable occupier first became liable for the
business rates
(f) Please also state which hereditament is currently receiving
I. Charitable rate relief (mandatory rate relief)
II. Discretionary rate relief
III. Empty property rate relief
IV. Listed building exemption
V. Retail Relief
VI Small Business Rate Relief
VII. Any other relief

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request, which was logged under
FOI 15/87 South and passed to me to respond accordingly.

 

Under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 2000 Act) you
are entitled to be informed in writing whether the council holds the
information specified in your request and, if that is the case, to have
that information communicated to you unless any of the statutory
exemptions apply.  I have considered your request and can confirm that
although we do hold the information asked, I believe it would be a breach
of data protection if all information requested within your email was
released to you. 

You have expressed a requirement to have details of all commercial
properties including details of the primary liable party for each.
However, I would not be able to disclose this data for non-domestic
accounts where personal information, i.e. individual names, was held as
being the liable party. 

The council publishes a full list of commercial properties (stripped of
all personal data (sole traders, partnerships etc) of on the business
rates freedom of information page on its website below.

The list is updated every quarter.

 

Please treat this as the council's formal response under the 2000 Act. If
you are not satisfied with the decision I have made in response to your
request, you may complain under the council's complaints procedure. If you
remain dissatisfied after following that procedure, you have the right

Commissioner if you feel the council has not dealt with your request
properly. You can contact the Commissioner at Wycliffe House, Water Lane,
