I am pleased to provide the information you requested and trust that it
meets your requirements.
1. Under the Freedom of Information Act I would like to request
information regarding your Business Management Innovation Unit. Can you
confirm the date it was created and, since its inception, can also you
please confirm the number of innovations delivered and associated savings
achieved by this unit.
- The Business Management Innovation Unit was formed within the
Finance & Corporate Services Directorate in July 2016. The unit leads the
continuous improvement and development of the Directorate’s business
processes, introducing new ways of working and promoting the best use of
existing and new technologies.
- Innovations are ideas, changes to methods, devices, solutions
etc and therefore a definitive number is not held. However many change
projects relating to internal processes have been implemented to assist
staff and managers. There are also been recommendations from service
reviews put in place to ease, streamline and make more effective business
- The team assisted Services within the Directorate to achieve
approved savings for 2018/19 of £3.3m.
