Dear Scottish Government,

For each of the government business interventions in Prestwick Airport, Ferguson Marine, Bifab and Lochaber Aluminium smelter please can you give me the investment returns actually received by the government in each of the fiscal years 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20. For each can you give me the nature of the return - interest income, dividends or other (please state). If any of the years requested predate the government intervention then please mark 'N/A' for that year. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any clarification.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Davis

Dear Scottish Government,

Ms Mary McAllan, Director for Economic Development

I am requesting an internal review of my FOI request (ref - 202000055209) of information withheld in relation to Bifab and Lochaber Aluminium smelter. I do not believe the FOI(S)A exemptions claimed apply and therefore, the information should be disclosed to me. The wording used in the FOI response is generic “copy and paste” text, not tailored to the circumstances of this case.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Davis

I am not able to upload documents therefore we need to rely on weblinks. I would ask you to consider the information in the public domain

Alvance British Aluniminium Limited (Lochaber Smelter)
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/compa...

Burntisland Fabrications Limited
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/compa...

Please review the information in the public domain, particularly contained within the "Full Accounts" for both these companies at Companies House. You will then need to explain the nature of the commercial prejudice if you rely on that exemption. Please don't use copy and paste text or generic responses - the commercial prejudice needs to be specific.

I look forward to your response.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Davis

REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION

Thank you for carrying out an internal review of the response to my FOI request.

I am seeking clarification of your response in respect of the loan and investment in BiFab. Your review claims that all information within the scope of my request had been supplied in the original FOI response. I do not believe this is the case. The original reply did not include whether interest had been received on the BiFab loan and how much that interest amounted to. I deduce from interpreting your response that no interest on the loan to BiFab has been by received by the government in the years listed in my FOI request letter. However, as I have mentioned, this is an interpretation of your response. I would be grateful of your clarification.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Davis
