Dear Waltham Forest Borough Council,

Hope you are well?

I would like to request information about your business grants. What business grants do you offer to local start-ups/small businesses? What is the allowance per business in 2019 and what will be the allowance in 2020?

Also, if possible, do you have information about how much you have given (grants) to local businesses in the past 5 years in your area?

Yours faithfully,

Louise Lea

Re: FOI Response FOI149591695 "Freedom of Information request - Business
Grants".

Dear Louise Lea,
Dear Sir/Madam,
Re: Freedom of Information Request - Business Grants
I am writing to confirm that the Council does not offer business grants
for start-ups and small businesses.
We do provide free support in the form of information and advice and
access to a business adviser, also training workshops and networking
events. Please visit the council website for details on this.
As part of our Borough of Culture programme 2019, we have a created a
range of 'Fellowship Grants'. These are designed to deliver arts and
cultural activity that engages local communities across the borough.
Whilst some small organisations have received funding through the grants
programme, they are not awarded to support start-ups and small
businesses.
Kind regards
Information Officer
