Dear Mr Ellis

Reference number: EIR/ENV/03/17/13293

On 13 March 2017 Hertfordshire County Council received the following
request for information from you:

“The Bus Shelter at Bushey Academy towards Watford was damaged by a
vehicle over a year ago.  The bus shelter has not been repaired since.

What are the plans to repair this bus shelter?

How much money did Hertfordshire County Council claim from the car that
crashed into the bus shelter?

How has this insurance money been spent?”

Your request for information has been considered under the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004. I can confirm that Hertfordshire County
Council does hold some of the information you have requested and can
respond as follows:

The Bus Shelter at Bushey Academy towards Watford was damaged by a vehicle
over a year ago.  The bus shelter has not been repaired since.

The bus shelter was inspected on 13^th August 2015 at 13.15 hours. The
shelter was damaged to the extent that repair was not possible

What are the plans to repair this bus shelter?

HCC  are looking at utilising a shelter of the same type from elsewhere in
the county which is no longer served by buses, and  are awaiting a quote
to remove and install it . The shelter will be relocated in the next
financial year

How much money did Hertfordshire County Council claim from the car that
crashed into the bus shelter?

Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) do not hold this information as the
shelter was of an advertising type owned by a third party.  Any insurance
claim would therefore have been made by the shelter company as there would
have been a loss of advertising element.

How has this insurance money been spent?

No monies were transferred to HCC, but the shelter will be replaced.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, quoting
the reference number on this correspondence. To find out more about
