Thank you for your request of 17^th February 2017 under the Freedom of
Information Act.  Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding. 

 

You requested the following information in respect of Bus Route 28/28a:

 

Please advise me why this route is continually changing in terms of where
it runs.

 

Bus Route 28/28a is a wholly supported contract and, as such, Reading
Buses is obliged to operate the service in accordance with the
specification and contractual terms of the client local authority, as
amended by that authority from time to time.

 

Please provide me with passenger numbers and income/ costs for this route.

 

This is information is held by the contracting authority.  You may wish to
contact Reading Borough Council for further information.

 

Does it receive a subsidy, and, if so, how much and from whom?

 

This service is supported under a service subsidy agreement issued by
Reading Borough Council, under the terms of the Transport Act 1985 as
amended.  The gross cost value of the contract was £123,000 p.a. at the
time of award, currently it is £107,287 p.a.

 

If you are dissatisfied with this response for any reason you have the
right to seek an internal review.  A request for review should be
submitted to our Customer Services Team within two months from the date of
my initial response. An internal panel will then review the response and
advise you of the outcome.

 

If having requested a review by Reading Buses you are not satisfied with
the outcome you have the right of appeal to the Information Commissioner’s
Office (Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF).
