• With flow bus lane is defined as a bus lane that runs alongside a traffic lane open to other motorised vehicles and in the same direction of travel.
• Contra flow bus lane is defined as a bus lane alongside a lane open to other motorised vehicles in the opposite direction of travel
• Bus only road is a road that has no lanes open to other motorised vehicles in either direction.

Please be aware that we are a district council which provides services to
residents in Thanet, including Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs
and villages across the district. Our services include keeping the streets
clean and collecting rubbish, renting out social housing (council houses
and flats), providing leisure facilities and play areas and processing
council tax, business rates and housing benefits. We deal with local
planning applications, issue licenses for taxis and licensed premises,
look after parks, beaches and open spaces, and parking around our borough.
Services including managing bus lanes, primary, secondary and further
education, majority of the roads, pavements and street lighting, libraries
and adult education, social services, care and bus passes, fall outside
our service area and are provided by Kent County Council (KCC).
If your request falls into one of these categories that KKC provides,
please accept this acknowledgment as our response.
