 1. How many miles of with flow bus lane are operational within the
authority boundaries?

The active Bus Lane Orders we have on file are as follows:

CCC (Various Streets, Cambridge) (Bus Lanes) Order 2014

13 lengths measuring as follows:-

Elizabeth Way (WS)-approx. 299m

Newmarket Road (NS)-approx. 558m

Newmarket Road (SS)-approx. 733m

Newmarket Road (SS) -approx. 312m

Milton Road (SES)-169m

Milton Road (SES)-approx. 408m

Milton Road (SES)-approx. 642m

Hills Road (WS)-approx. 292m

Hills Road (WS)-approx. 170m

Victoria Avenue (WS)- 478.5m

Shelford Road (SWS)-approx. 290m

Trumpington Road (ES)-approx. 924m

Madingley Road (NS)-355m

CCC (A1307 Cambridge Road, Babraham) (Bus Lane) Order 2020

-          One length measuring approx. 697m

CCC (A1307 Cambridge Road, Linton) (Bus Lane) Order 2019

-          One length measuring 900m

CCC (George Street (B1514) and Walden Road (B1514), (Ring Road)
Huntingdon) (Bus Lane, Prohibition of wating and loading) Order 2007

-          One length measuring just 47m

CCC (Huntingdon Road, Girton) (Bus/Cycle Lane, Prohibition of Wating and
Loading) Order 1998

-          One length measuring approx. 1273m

In total that is approximately 8547.5m of with-flow bus lanes, which
equates to approximately 5.31 miles.

 2. How many miles of additional with flow bus lane are planned to be
created within the next five years in the authority area?
We do not have a calculated figure recorded for additional with-flow
bus lanes planned to be created within the next five years.

 3. How many miles of with flow bus lane are planned to be removed within
the next five years in the authority area?
We are not aware of any plans to remove any bus lanes

 4. How many miles of with flow bus lane are accessible by motorcycles in
the authority area?
Motorcycles can use bus lanes outside their hours of operation, as can
any other vehicle.  Out of the lengths mentioned in Q1 the length on
Hills Road is operational from 7am to 7pm daily and the lengths on
Victoria Avenue, Shelford Road, Trumpington Road and Madingley Road
are operational from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday.  All other lengths
are operational 24/7.

In December 2020 we introduced an Experimental Order  - Elizabeth Way
with-flow bus lane which is 299m long that allows motorcycles and electric
vehicles to use it on a trial basis. This can remain in force for up to 18
months.

 5. How many miles of with flow bus lane are accessible by pedal cycles in
the authority area?

With the exception of the length prescribed in CCC (George Street (B1514)
and Walden Road (B1514), (Ring Road) Huntingdon) (Bus Lane, Prohibition of
wating and loading) Order 2007”, pedal cycles are permitted in all of the
above lengths of with-flow bus lanes.
