We do not have a camera at this location and have not issued any Penalty
Charge Notices.

 

At present we have eight cameras.  These cameras are moved regularly and
can be placed at any location on the bus lane network.  Please note that
at any one time not every camera is turned on.

I have received the above response from them stating that there is no camera at this location, I therefore sent them by post a photograph of the camera in situ and asked them to amend their FOI response.
As motorists we can momentarily and completely innocently stray across the white line of a bus lane and receive an immediate fine.
According to the Hull City Council, the cost for installing a bus lane camera in Hull was in the region of twenty five thousand pounds. One wonders how many pot holes in the road that could fill to make the roads safer.
