Information Request – reference no. DC3445
Thank you for your information request dated 12.05.2021, which has been
dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
Our response to your request is as follows:
BCP (Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch Council) have 2 crems that are also
within Dorset County area. There is also a private crem.
I will not be able to provide the details for any of these I'm afraid, you
will need to contact them separately.
Town or parish council are generally responsible for cemeteries in the
Dorset County area. BCP also own some cemeteries.
Dorset Council does not run any active cemeteries. Although the previous
boroughs and districts may have run some of these prior to 1st April 2019.
The Town Council that now run these will have historical information.
Cremations. From 1st January 2015 - close of play today (12th May 2021)
As of the end of today 8455 full cremations. This covers stillborn
through to adult.
Any cremations for younger than stillborn are recorded separately and not
included in these figures.
