Andrea Bechtle, Bedford Borough Council

Dear Mark Corti

Request pursuant to Environmental Information Regulations Act 2004 –
Request No.13741

Thank you for your request for information concerning building
regulations, which we received on 27^th February Your request has been
considered under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

We want to be as open as possible in answering requests, and to help
people obtain the information they are looking for.  Unfortunately, in
this case the amount of information you have requested is very
substantial.  Gathering it together would therefore be likely to involve a
significant cost and diversion of resources.  This could mean that we
might have to charge you for the work involved or even have to refuse the
request under exceptions in the Environmental Information Regulations 2004
covering requests that are manifestly unreasonable or formulated too
general a manner.

Please clarify if the information requested is related to new dwellings or
will it include all works to domestic properties?

The best way that we can help you therefore is to ask you to consider
whether you could narrow down your request to focus on the precise
information that you are seeking.  You could, for example:

o Be more specific about the time period covered by your request
o Explain more fully about the kind of information you are looking for
o Browse through material that has already been made publically
available on the authority’s website ([1]www.bedford.gov.uk) to see if
this would help you to identify more precise questions that we might
be able to answer at less cost.

If you are unable or unwilling to narrow down your request we will, of
course, consider it in accordance with our obligations under the
Environmental Information Regulations 2004.  However, we wanted to give
you an opportunity to reconsider your request and describe more precisely
the information you require.

Please let me know how you wish to proceed.

Yours sincerely

Dear Ms Bechtle,
Thank you for your prompt response.

The Part F commissioning notices, and therefore my enquiry, relate to all domestic properties which have had a mechanical ventilation system installed, not only new dwellings. Airflow tests relate only to new dwellings.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Corti

Dear Ms Bechtle,
Is there any news on this?

Yours sincerely,

Mark Corti
