Building regulations enforcement S36 notices issued.

We're waiting for Adam A to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Bedford Borough Council,

Please could you provide a response to the following requests for information in respect of Building Act 1984 S36 enforcement action taken since 1st January 2006 (reporting each calendar year separately if possible):-

Residential Property Works:
1. How many Building Act 1984 Section 36 enforcement notices have been issued in respect of residential property works since 1st January 2006 (reporting each calendar year separately if possible) ?

2. How many injunctions have been applied for pursuant to Building Act 1984 Section 36(6) in respect of residential property works since 1st January 2006 (reporting each calendar year separately if possible) ?

Commercial or other Property Works
3. How many Building Act 1984 Section 36 enforcement notices have been issued in respect of other property works, not being residential property works, since 1st January 2006 (reporting each calendar year separately if possible) ?

4. How many injunctions have been applied for pursuant to Building Act 1984 Section 36(6) in respect of other property works, not being residential property works, since 1st January 2006 (reporting each calendar year separately if possible) ?

Since a substantial amount of work will be involved in processing your
request, I am afraid that a fee is payable before we can provide you with
the information. The fee in this case is £329,225.00 - please see enclosed
schedule explaining how this was calculated. If the actual cost turns out
to be less than the estimate, the balance will be returned to you.

 

To enable us to proceed, please return a copy of this letter with a cheque
for £329,225.00 made payable to Bedford Borough Council to the address
below.  Alternatively, you may use the Council’s Pay For It online

•             Insert your name, address and amount where requested

•             In the message box below add the reference number:  EIR

that may be of interest to you, or ways to refine your request that will
reduce the fee.
