Further to your recent request to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service
(NWFRS) made under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act regarding
building fire safety/cladding, the response from NWFRS is as follows:

 

1. By local authority how many residential buildings in North Wales are:

a. Above 18m

 

Flintshire – 3

Wrexham – 4

Denbighshire – 0

Conwy – 1

Gwynedd – 3

Ynys Môn – 3

 

b. Between 18 and 11m

 

Flintshire – 1

Wrexham – 3

Denbighshire – 6

Conwy – 10

Gwynedd – 2

Ynys Môn – 10

 

2. Has the Service been instructed by Welsh Government to include
buildings sub11 meters in their Risk Programme for inspection?

 

Buildings form part of NWFRS’s risk inspection programme dependent on
risk. This will result in some sub 11m premises being inspected. Welsh
Government has not directed the Service to target any particular height or
type of premises.

 

a. If so, has the Service received any additional funding for doing so.

 

NWFRS has not received any funding from Welsh Government to assist in its
auditing programme.
