The request was successful.

Dear Wirral Borough Council,
I would like to know how much it costs Wirral Borough Council to fund their buffet each year for their meetings?

Yours faithfully,

Zoe King

InfoMgr, FinDMT, Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council

Good Morning,

Thank you for your request for information shown below. The Council never
provides buffets for its meetings and as such, no annual cost is
available.

On very rare occasions, a sandwich lunch may be provided at a meeting,
usually if it involves visitors who have travelled from out of the
borough.

In June 2010, Cabinet instructed that free meals and sandwiches for
officer or Council meetings, including training courses, be minimised
immediately, and a review be undertaken with the intention of stopping the
practice altogether. Please see the link and item 52 (4) for the Cabinet
resolution:

I hope you find the information of use.

This one of the first actions of the Council's new Cabinet last year - as well as cutting allowances paid to cabinet members, we also ended 'free meals' for councillors at the Town Hall.
