Dear Francotte, Patricia,

Many thanks for this response.

I would say that the sum given here is much higher than for any other local authority , including large councils such as Birmingham.

Could I please double-check that the whole of the amount is for elective home education services ie where children are educated at home by parental choice.

Yours sincerely,

Fiona Nicholson

Francotte, Patricia, Bury Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Ms Nicholson

To clarify the position in that: the financial management system includes the total budget allocation and expenditure covering Home/Hospital tuition and doesn't differentiate between the two.

Pat Francotte

Dear Patricia,

Ah OK thank you very much for the prompt response.

I would still like to find out the amount being spent on elective home education services in the current academic year (eg in 2012 it was around £27,000) but that would probably be a new FOI?

Yours sincerely,

Fiona Nicholson

Francotte, Patricia, Bury Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Miss Nicholson

Just explored further and agreed with the service manager that the costs incurred would include home visits together with approximately half of a School Attendance Team Officer time and would be about the same as 2012/13 at £27,000 i.e. there were no increases or decreases to this area.

No need for any additional FOI
