Dear Ms Nicholson,

I am writing in respect of your recent request for information from
Somerset County Council which has been dealt with under the provisions of
the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I confirm that we do hold some of the information you are seeking and are
able to provide what we do hold to you. Our response is detailed in bold
format underneath your questions as follows.

Your request

Please could you tell me the following:

Q1.) Where elective home education currently sits in your authority?

A1.) Managed and monitored by Education Attendance Service.

Q2.) Which line in the s251 table included an allocation for elective home
education services in a/ 2013-14 and b/ 2014-15?

A2.) The S251 line in both years was 1.4.1 Contribution to Combined

Q3.) What is the budget sum allocated to elective home education services
for the current year?

A3.) Current academic year funding is under review from September 2014.
Presently Elective Home Education is being managed within the existing
Education Attendance Service resources.

Q4.) What is the forward budget sum allocated to elective home education
services for the next financial year?

A4.) We do not hold this information. However please note that any future
budget sum allocation is under review by senior management. Funding
previously allocated by the Schools Forum from the Dedicated School Grant
for this work was withdrawn from the 31August 2014 and the residual
statutory work absorbed within the Education Attendance Service.  At this
point no additional Local Authority funding has been allocated to support
this work although this is under review.
