Dear Ms Nicholson

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST

Reference number: RFI-107661

Your request for information has now been considered and the information
requested is detailed below:

1/ Where elective home education currently sits in your authority

o A nominated lead officer for elective home education works within the
school improvement team.  He is assisted by an elective home education
support worker who undertakes visits and works with EHE families.

2/ Which line in the s251 table included an allocation for elective home
education services in a/ 2013-14 and b/ 2014-15

o As there is no specific budget allocation for EHE (see Q3) no
allocation was included in the s251 Budget tables for 2013-14 or
2014-15. The costs described in Q3 response below are included in line
2.0.4 “School Improvement”

3/ What is the budget sum allocated to elective home education services
for the current year

o There is no specific budget allocation for EHE.  The staff costs are
met from within the wider school improvement team budget. As an
estimate the EHE function costs in the region of £30,000.  This covers
the a part time post (EHE support officer) and (0.2) salary of the
lead officer

4/ What is the forward budget sum allocated to elective home education
services for the next financial year

o As given in answer 3.
