Dear Kim Parry,

FOI 2017-0053125

Thank you for your request for information, received on 7 November 2017.
You requested the spend on disability equipment (for example seating and
standing) for children with special needs within school for the following
periods;

2015/2016 - Actual spend

2016/2017 - Actual spend

2017/2018 - Budgeted

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The information you have requested is not held by the Department.

The Equality Act 2010 places a duty on all schools to support disabled
children and young people. It includes making reasonable adjustments to
prevent them from suffering discrimination, and supplying additional aids
and services to assist with individuals’ disabilities. Schools must have
accessibility plans which set out how they will improve access to the
curriculum, improve school buildings and environment to enable disabled
pupils to take better advantage of the school and improve the availability
of accessible information.

If you would like to view the cost data held by the Department at school
level, this is collected for local authority maintained schools via the
Consistent Financial Reporting collection.  Data for the 2010-11 to
2015-16 financial years is available on the school performance website at
[1]https://www.compare-school-performance.s...

For academy schools, school level information on income and expenditure
for the 2015/16 academic year is published in the report, [2]Income and
expenditure in academies in England. Within the [3]Main Tables sheets:
‘Raw Data SATs’ and ‘Raw Data MAT academies’ show detailed income and
expenditure.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should
make a complaint to the Department by writing to me within two calendar
months of the date of this letter.  Your complaint will be considered by
an independent review panel, which were not involved in the original
consideration of your request.

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint to the
Department, you may then contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
