Dear Roads Service Northern Ireland,
Minister Kennedy recently stated "As it stands my budget does not provide for sufficient service provision in areas like repair of potholes"
Can you provide me with any and all information in respect of how the Department plans to implement this to provide a different level of pothole repair than currently stands.
I wish to see emails sent to Engineers, Inspectors, the Departments Solicitors etc explaining how to go about ignoring potholes and what the new criteria is to be.
Are Inspections still taking place with the same frequency as before?
Are all potholes STILL being recorded for repair?
Have the response times been changed and provide documents to show this?
Has there been any instruction issued to staff on how to now treat the report of a pothole either through calling Transport NI or emailing and provide documents to show this?
Are Inspectors responding to complaints anymore?
On a question of liability, will Transport NI still be assessing all calims as before or will they issue a rejected claim citing the lack of money for repairs and hope this deters the claimant?
How much does Transport NI paln to spend this year investigating claims?
Dear Mr Wilkinson
Thank you for your email dated 16 April 2015 to TransportNI re repairing potholes.
The matter is receiving attention and under the Freedom of Information Act, you should receive a reply by 15 May 2015.
I refer to your email received on 20 March 2015, requesting information, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding pothole repairs.
Please find reply to your request attached.
Dear TransportNI Secretariat,
Thank you for the reply,
i would imagine that the Courts will have a field day with this policy if any claim arises through this blatant disregard for road safety.
